The Shimano 25 Grappler Type C S82H Topwater Spin Rod is purpose-built for anglers who love launching big lures and tackling powerful fish. Designed with casting performance as a priority, its Spiral X and Hi-Power X blank construction reduces tip vibration and delivers fast recovery, allowing long, accurate casts in a wide range of weather and sea conditions. At the same time, the lightweight-focused design helps minimise angler fatigue during long sessions on the water. Despite its exceptional casting ability, the Grappler Type C remains extremely capable when it comes to fighting fish, offering the strength and control needed for serious topwater battles.
Spiral X Technology
Shimano’s patented Spiral X construction enhances power transmission through an advanced three-layer structure. A vertical-fibre core is reinforced with inner and outer layers of diagonally wrapped carbon tape wound in opposing directions. Replacing traditional horizontal fibre sheets, this design significantly improves compression and torsional rigidity without increasing weight, resulting in instant response for precise casting and confident fish control.
Hi-Power X Construction
Hi-Power X utilises diagonally wrapped carbon tape arranged in distinctive “X” patterns along the outer layer of the blank. By adjusting tape width, angle, and placement based on target species, Shimano fine-tunes rod action, strength, and resistance to twisting. The result is crisp, accurate rod control and increased stability under load.
CI4+ Material
CI4+ is Shimano’s advanced carbon-reinforced material that offers superior strength with reduced weight. Compared to standard CI4, CI4+ is up to 2.5 times more rigid, allowing reel seats and components to be lighter, smaller, and more responsive without sacrificing durability.
