Built for New Zealand’s Tough Saltwater
When you're fishing New Zealand's rugged coastline, you need a reel that can handle whatever the ocean throws at it. The Shimano Spheros SW 6000 HG A Spinning Reel is purpose-built for demanding saltwater conditions, combining proven Shimano engineering with impressive durability and outstanding value.
Designed to withstand constant exposure to saltwater, spray and harsh marine conditions, the Spheros SW 6000 HG A features X-Shield and X-Protect technology to provide IPX-8 waterproof performance and help prevent water from reaching the reel's internal components. This means reliable operation and smooth performance even when the conditions get rough.
At its core, the reel uses a rigid HAGANE Body and durable HAGANE Gear, helping minimise body flex while delivering solid winding power under load. Shimano's X-Ship and Infinity Drive technologies further improve gearing efficiency, providing a smooth, powerful and effortless retrieve.
Weighing just 450g, the Spheros SW 6000 HG A is also light enough to reduce fatigue during long days of casting, lure fishing or jigging.
The 5.7:1 gear ratio delivers an impressive 103cm of line recovery per handle turn, making this reel ideal for working lures at speed and quickly gaining line when a hard-fighting fish changes direction. With a 10kg maximum drag and durable Cross Carbon Drag system, it provides smooth, dependable stopping power for a wide range of New Zealand saltwater species, from Snapper and Kahawai through to hard-pulling Kingfish.
If you need a dependable spinning reel that can handle serious saltwater fishing without the premium price tag, the Shimano Spheros SW 6000 HG A is ready for the challenge.
