Taking its name from the Spanish word for fire, the Daiwa Fuego 7102 HFS-NZ Spinning Rod is designed to deliver a powerful combination of strength, sensitivity and casting performance.
Built around a lightweight HVF Carbon blank, this rod offers excellent responsiveness while maintaining the strength needed for demanding New Zealand fishing. Its sensitive construction helps transmit subtle bites and lure movement directly to the angler, while the fast action provides plenty of control when fighting fish.
Daiwa's X45 Bias Construction strengthens the blank and minimises unwanted twisting during casting and under load. This results in improved casting power, accuracy and stability, making the Fuego an excellent choice for reaching fish from both boat and shore.
The rod is fitted with Fuji K-Series guides and Fuji Fazlite rings, providing smooth and consistent line flow for efficient, long-distance casting. Combined with a purpose-designed Daiwa reel seat and comfortable EVA grip, the Fuego 7102 HFS-NZ is a versatile option for targeting species such as Snapper, Kahawai and other hard-fighting fish.
HVF Carbon
HVF (High Volume Fibre) technology combines carefully controlled resin content with unidirectional graphite fibre. By increasing the proportion of graphite within the blank, Daiwa creates a lightweight, sensitive and highly responsive rod with excellent strength-to-weight performance.
Fuji Fazlite Rings
Fuji Fazlite is a high-performance guide material developed for the demands of Fuji's premium K-Series guide system.
Fazlite offers excellent hardness, heat resistance and bending strength while providing a smooth surface for braided line. Its distinctive deep-blue finish also gives the rod a clean and premium appearance.
X45 Bias Construction
X45 uses a specially arranged carbon fibre bias wrap with fibres positioned at opposing 45-degree angles within the blank.
This construction helps control blank twisting during casting and when the rod is under load, allowing the blank to maintain its round profile. By reducing unwanted twist, X45 improves power transfer, casting accuracy, sensitivity, strength and durability.
Daiwa Reel Seat
The custom Daiwa Reel Seat is designed specifically to complement Daiwa rod construction. Its ergonomic design provides a comfortable and secure connection to the reel while adding a distinctive look to the Fuego series.
