New this season and tuned for stickbaiting, this reel packs a serious punch yet is still light enough to cast all day!

The Shimano Saragosa just got an overhaul! It now features many of the components that are also found in the top-of-the-line Shimano Stella SW family. The new Shimano Saragosa 8000 SWHG Spinning Reel is encased in a hybrid aluminium and XT7 graphite body with an XGT7 rotor, Shimano's legendary X-Ship bearing supported pinion gear and larger drive gear delivers remarkable cranking power with less effort and a smoother feel. X-Shield and X-Protect keep salt water out of key areas, whilst the cross carbon drag is also waterproof.

A one-piece bail arm assembly smoothly guide the line to the roller, Shimano's Cam Oscillation system combines with the ARC-C spool to ensure that braided line lays neatly on the retrieve without creating dips or troughs and leaves the spool with less resistance when casting for distance and accuracy.

Super Stopper II
Super Stopper II anti-reverse uses a one-way bearing that eliminates backplay. This provides the angler with instant hooksetting power. Insome reels, the Super Stopper II can be turned off to allow backreeling for special techniques and situations.

X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect rotation even under heavy loads.

Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement
Using a special cold forged aluminium drive gear and a hardened brass pinion gear. Reels equipped with the Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement will retain the out-of-the-box smoothness much longer than before. In fast, testing has shown that this combination is more durable than an all-stainless steel drivetrain while maintaining the smoothness that Shimano is famous for.

Propulsion Line Management System
The most obvious component of the Propulsion Line Management System is the new Propulsion spool lip design. Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off of the spool in smaller loops during the cast which means less slap on the stripper guide.

AR-C Spool Management System
Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new AR-C spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction.

Dyna Balance
This feature eliminates wobble during the retrieve by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. By using computer balancing, an approach similar to car tire balancing, Shimano is able to redistribute the rotor weight to create smooth rotation and eliminate vibrations caused by the reel.
