The Shimano 23 Stradic 2500FM HG Spinning Reel brings a range of advanced technologies from Shimano's high-end spinning reels into the Stradic platform. Designed for anglers who expect smooth operation, strong gearing and dependable performance, the latest Stradic combines proven Shimano engineering with several significant upgrades.
At the heart of the reel is Shimano's cold-forged HAGANE Gear, now enhanced with InfinityXross technology. By extending the gear teeth horizontally and increasing the contact area between the drive and pinion gears, the load is spread more evenly across the gear surface. This helps reduce concentrated stress and delivers greater gear strength and longevity.
MicroModule Gear II further refines the gearing system with precisely engineered gear-tooth surfaces, creating an exceptionally smooth and refined retrieve. InfinityDrive reduces internal friction and makes it easier to turn the handle, while also providing additional winding power when the reel is under load.
The new DuraCross Drag system combines smooth drag performance with significantly improved durability, offering long-lasting consistency even with frequent use. Shimano's X-Protect system adds further protection against water intrusion through a combination of water-repellent treatment and specially designed labyrinth structures, helping protect key internal components without compromising the reel's light rotation.
For improved line control, the Anti-Twist Fin uses a flexible polymer positioned beneath the line roller to help reduce slack-line issues and improve line management, particularly when using monofilament or fluorocarbon.
Combined with a rigid HAGANE Body, SilentDrive, G-Free Body, Long Stroke Spool and other Shimano technologies, the 23 Stradic represents one of the most advanced and versatile Stradic reels ever produced.
